Old English Sheepdog

Old English Sheepdogs were bred early in the nineteenth century in the west of England as drovers' dogs for driving animals to market. These drovers' dogs were tax exempt, and their tails were docked to prove their occupation. Old English Sheepdogs make good watchdogs.

Temperament
With an easy, extroverted temperament, this breed is faithful, intelligent, and can be good with children. They are affectionate dogs, and early training should curb their habits of over exuberance. Firm handling is necessary in training.
