Japanese Chin

A favorite lapdog of the noble and royal ladies of China and Japan, a pair of Chins was presented to Queen Victoria by the American Commodore Matthew Perry upon his return from the East.  Subsequently, traders imported more of these dogs to both Europe and North America.  The cheerful and good-natured Japanese Chin has a distinctive expression and an extremely dainty character.
