Great Dane

Despite their name, Great Danes are really German dogs and are known as the Deutsche Dogge in their homeland, where they were initially bred to hunt wild boar. Some zoologists believe that the Mastiff breeds originally came from Asia. In Germany, the Great Dane has been cultivated as a distinctive breed for at least 400 years.
